Summer Music: Torches by Foster The People

by Vince

If you are in need of a summer album to listen to in the car or elsewhere, check out Foster The People’s album Torches. Most people know of their lead single “Pumped Up Kicks“, but the other 9 tracks on their debut album will not disappoint. They are just as catchy, funky, and dance-able.

Also, you can listen to an interview they did with XPN as well as some live studio tracks from Torches here.

Album for the Weekend: Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’

by Vince

Arcade Fire’s album from 2010, The Suburbs, which can in at #2 on the year end listeners review for XPN, is a great album for the weekend. It’s theme of suburban living consistently runs through each song along with its indie rock feel to make a seamless listen. I will be rocking out to it on my way to Ship today. Go Raiders!

My Morning Download 8/9/10 – Cults

by Vince

Brought to you by XPN:

Who are Cults and why is there so much buzz around this new band? Well, for starters, we’ll begin with the music: the song “Go Outside” is getting lots of music blog love with it’s sinewy grooves and chillwave vibes. Right now, only a three song 7-inch single exists and the band put out a limited edition two sided single on Forest Family Records. The band include Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion – who met less than a year ago in San Diego – started making music together after they moved to NYC to attend film school.

Download/live streem their cool song here.
