2010 – Year in Review: The VMG Blog

by Vince

WordPress sent me a nice little email telling me things about my blog from 2010. Some of the stuff I already knew but it was nice to see everything wrapped up. I started my blog in the mid summer and was able to pull off the stats as seen below. I added my comments in the red font.

The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:

A Boeing 747-400 passenger jet can hold 416 passengers. This blog was viewed about 7,700 times in 2010. That’s about 19 full 747s.

In 2010, there were 1224 new posts, not bad for the first year! There were 146 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 40mb. That’s about 3 pictures per week.

The busiest day of the year was December 4th with 159 views. The most popular post that day was The Bush tax cuts’ effect on the deficit in one graph.

Where did they come from?

The top referring sites in 2010 were facebook.com, en.wordpress.com, alphainventions.com, seehere.blogspot.com, and freesexmovie.irwanaf.com. Do I really want to know how hits came to my blog from the last website?

Some visitors came searching, mostly for awkward moments with putin, ground zero strip club, hip hop taxonomy, taxonomy of hip hop names, and taxonomy of hip hop.
